Dr. Raman Malik is a Nephrologist with expertise in transplant nephrology. He has more than 30 years of experience in his field of specialization. He currently works as a Senior Consultant in the Nephrology and Renal Transplant Department at Fortis Hospital, Mulund. He was the first nephrologist to start the Renal Transplant Program in 1991 in the Armed Forces. To date, he has conducted over 500 renal transplants in his individual capacity. In January 2021, the first hepato-renal transplant was performed at Fortis Hospital under his direct care.
Dr. Raman Malik did his MBBS in 1972 and MD (Medicine) in 1981 from AFMC, Pune University. He completed his DNB (Nephrology) from AIIMS, New Delhi, in 1989. He has rendered 22 years of service in the Armed Forces in various capacities as a Medical Officer and MD Physician with a 5-year training stint abroad. After taking premature retirement from the Armed Forces in 1999, he has been in civil practice in Mumbai.
Apart from his clinical activities, Dr. Raman Malik publishes widely in various journals. He delivered a paper presentation at the first SAARC Conference in New Delhi. He has been commended by the defense authorities for his Nephrology work. He also worked as an MD (Med) teacher at Mumbai University from 1985-87.
