Dr. Alok Sharma is a senior Neurosurgeon who completed his M.B.B.S, MS and M.Ch. from Seth G.S. Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai and subsequently trained at the Karolinska Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden & University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Denver, USA. He has published 150 scientific papers, authored 16 books, contributed chapters in 18 books and made over 200 scientific presentations nationally and internationally. He is the President of the “Stem Cell Society (India)” and Vice President of International Association of Neurorestoratology (IANR). He has been conferred with numerous awards and honors during his career such as, Sushrut Award, National Healthcare Excellence Award, Rose of Paracelsus Award etc. His areas of special interest are Stem Cell therapy for incurable Neurological conditions, Neuroendoscopy, Psychosurgery, Spinal Reconstructive Surgery Revascularization for cerebral ischemia, Neurotrauma management and Excision of large Brain tumors. In addition to being Consultant Neurosurgeon at the Fortis Hospital, Mulund, he is also the Professor and Head of Department of Neurosurgery at the LTMG Hospital and Medical college and Director of the NeuroGen Brain And Spine Institute. He has over 25 years of Neurosurgical experience under his belt.
